Standing out within our crowded world.
Amplifying Connection for Success in our Digital Age
It's been a couple of extra weeks since I planned to share this update. Summer in the northern hemisphere took over a little, but fortunately, it didn't slow down my plans to build www.amplifyingsuccess.io.
As you may have gathered from my last update, I've been spending a lot of time researching and trying to understand success and what people seek in their day-to-day personal or professional lives to be successful.
Many people utilising digital content are seeking success stories, advice, perspectives, tips, tricks, and anything that will help steer them in the direction of being successful.
Unveiling the Creator Economy and Solopreneur Revolution:
Some of the most interesting findings during this journey I've been learning about are the creator economy and the growing solopreneur economy.
A software-facilitated economy that allows content creators and influencers to earn revenue from their creations. Also known as the influencer economy.
“One who organises, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise without the help of a partner.” Or, to put it more simply, they’re “a solo entrepreneur.”
The Digital Noise: Targeted vs. Scatter Approach:
I'm sure you spend some time on social media and have noticed the many posts, articles, and videos from people trying to attract your attention to read more about the author's services. These approaches typically share how they've helped someone like you grow, build, or do something you might need to be more successful.
What interests me most about this activity and the growing phenomenon is that most targeting is often uncoordinated. It is a scatter bomb approach that tries to reach out to individuals on mass in the hope that it reaches the right someone.
Many share they are trying to speak to a niche area or sub-niche (think people who like food ‘niche’ vs. people who want vegan food ‘sub-niche’). In reality, they are sharing with us all, hoping it finds their sub-niche.
Many of these businesses, creators and solopreneurs offer fantastic expertise or products; however, the amount of effort and content produced to drive leads and conversions to their offerings seems counterintuitive. Yes, anyone who understands marketing knows that to have a reasonable conversion rate, one needs to get enough traffic, volume, or notice of whatever you are trying to convert before x % will actually complete the call to action.
Amplifying Success: Crafting a Connection:
When I set out to build Amplifying Success, I sought input from colleagues, peers, LinkedIn members, and anyone who would listen and provide feedback or ideas towards what might make it successful.
It became clear that professionals sought tools, tips and techniques to improve their productivity, decision making and anything that helped them succeed.
When you consider that we are looking for help and advice and many solopreneurs and creators are offering their services, should there not be a better way of connecting our needs to people, places and events that can solve them?
Progress this month
During the past few weeks, I've made some breakthroughs in approach and technology.
One of the critical realisations has been around the ‘What’.
What would help stitch together the connection between people seeking and offering help?
To do this, I borrowed a concept close to a two-sided marketplace, like Five or Upwork, then blended in the idea of a community to arrive at what the first version of Amplifying Success may look like.
Seeking Validation: Your Voice, Our Progress:
Like all good ideas - one needs some validation that it makes sense and answers what you need!
To do this, I would love your input and help.
